How to use Topics: All topics are in alphebetical order; numbers first. All topics have a ` symbol before and after each word, so a seach with that symbol along with the desired word, will go right to that topic (rather than the same word contained elsewhere within the document. The word may be part of the header for that topic but not necessarily the first word. For example, just below. The topic is `gentile converts`, but in this case the relevance is the four requirements of gentile converts, so 4 Requirements comes first.
4 Requirements of `gentile converts`
Requirement Older Testament Reference Newer Testament Reference
Proper Worship Leviticus 17:1-9 Acts 15:29 (1st phrase)
Proper Diet Leviticus 17:10-15 Acts 15:29 (2nd & 3rd phrases)
Proper Sexual Relations Leviticus 18:1-30 Acts 15:29 (4th phrase)
`Babylon`
By definition Babylon means “confusion by mixing”.
`Barabbas` (actually `Bar Abba`)
Means “son of the Father” in Aramaic.
Matthew 27:17 Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will you that I release unto you? Barabbas, or YaHuW’shuwa (Yeshua) which is called Mashiyach (Messiah)? Messiah represented “the firstborn” sons of Egypt who died in place of the “firstborn sons” of Yisra’el. The innocent children of the firstborn of Egypt had to die in order to release the firstborn of Yisra’el. Messiah was now taking the place for the innocent.
Barabbas was being released now to symbolize that all of Yisra’el was being released from their debt of sin and Messiah was taking their place!
`Christian`
First of all, the word “Christian”does not come from the original scriptures. What can be proven in any standard Christian reference work is the word “Christian” actually came from the word “Chrestian”. Followers of Yahshua called themselves “disciples”*, not “Christians”. The word “Chrestian” may have been coined by the heathen people of Antioch probably referring to some problematic meaning of the name in their society so they used it in a derogatory manner as an insult. Peter simply takes it over from the anti-Christian judicial procedure of the law courts, without in any way implying that the Christians used it among themselves.
The followers of Yahshua did not call themselves Christians, YHWH did not call them Christians either. The wider population used the term "Chresitan". The Greek word "Christos" (where we get the word “Christ”) was not a name, but rather something that had been covered with oil (anointed). In Jewish-Greek, it came to mean Messiah (anointed one).
Yahshua’s followers were called "Nazarines" because Yahshua was referred to by His place and His clan. This was common with teachers and leaders.
Though it is most likely Yahshua’s followers were called Nazarenes, that word is not used to describe them in the scriptures either. The word that is in the scriptures used by Yahshua’s followers to call and refer to themselves was “disciples”. “Crestians” was incorrectly changed to “Christians” by translators, who incorrectly used it rather than “disciples”.
*The word translated as “disciples” actually means “student” and usually refers to someone trying to become like their master in order to be an accurate representation of him.
`Commandments` (For more comprehensive information click:
http://hiddentruthrevealed.weebly.com/keeping-the-commandments.html
Devarim (Deuteronomy) 4:2
2 “You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of YHWH your Elohim which I command you.”
Devarim (Deuteronomy)5:10
10And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
Devarim (Deuteronomy) 12:32
32 "Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.
Psalms 103:17-18
But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting On those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children, 18 To such as keep His covenant, And to those who remember His commandments to do them.
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 5:17-19
17 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the Torah till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
From: Building on the “New” Covenant Lie Part II by: Dustin Hunter
What bothers the Father י ה ו ה, is that many preachers/teachers/people profess that they love him“with lips,” but their actions show other wise and they teach others not to follow THE WAY; Mt 15:8, Mar 7:5. “He [people] that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him” 1Jn 2:4. The biggest contradiction is, “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he [Y'shua] walked” 1Jn 2:6. This is THE WAY. People continue to add and subtract form His word, which has penalties and Curses. “Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you” Deu 4:2 . The reason people don't want to keep His ways and say, “The Law is done away with,” is because they do not have circumcised hearts or are short of understanding. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children” Hos 4:6. Their hearts are of stone and not of flesh so the Law cannot be written on their heart. They would rather justify their heart through creative doctrine, or be like pharaoh of Egypt...
From the beginning Moshe said we could do it: “But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it” Deu 30:14. We may not be able to do perfectly, but we are created to try and we will get better with practice. We do not have the luxury to pick and choose what commandments we want to follow, but to attempt those we can do. It is obvious that there are some we cannot do because of the temple being destroyed, but this has no barring upon the Sabbath, Feasts, tzitzit, dietary (be Holy for I am Holy Lev 11 and I Peter 1:15), and our conduct in this world to name a few. The early congregations observed the Sabbath, New Moon, and Feasts Col 2:16.
Y'shua said it Himself: Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven Mat 5:17-19.
1 John 5:2-3
2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
John 14:15 (Yahshua speaking)
“ If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
Vs.21:
21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”
1 John 5:2
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and [e]observe His commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.
`Covenant`
Deuteronomy 29:9-15
10Ye stand this day all of you before the LORD your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel, 11Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water: 12That thou shouldest enter into covenant with the LORD thy God, and into his oath, which the LORD thy God maketh with thee this day: 13That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a(KJV) God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. 14Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath; 15But with him that standeth here with us this day before the LORD our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day:
Deuteronomy 30:6
And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
`Deception`
We all know that hasatan deceived Chava (Eve); however, do you realize that only 25% of what he said to her was error, while 75% of it was the truth?
1. Lie/Error—You shall not surely die.
2. Truth—Your eyes will be opened.
3. Truth—You will be like God.
4. Truth—You will know good from evil.
As you can see, after initially telling Chava a lie, hasatan finished his deception with good old truth. What's most important is that truth was mixed with error and the consequences were cataclysmic, touching the lives of every person ever born.
`Diaspra`
Deut 30:1
And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee, 2And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul; 3That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.
Joshua 23:16
16 When you transgress the covenant of the Lord your God, which He commanded you, and go and serve other gods and bow down to them, then the anger of the Lord will burn against you, and you will perish quickly from off the good land which He has given you.”
Micah 5:8
And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.
End of: Deut. 30:1-5
`Disciple`
The word translated as “disciples” actually means “student” and usually refers to someone trying to become like their master in order to be an accurate representation of him. Followers of Yeshua called themselves “disciples”, not “Christians”.
‘Divorce’ (when YHWH divorced the Northern Tribes of Israel)
Jermiah 3:8
8And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
`Dietary Laws`
Deuteronomy 14:7-21
Nevertheless, of those that chew the cud or have cloven hooves, you shall not eat, such as these: the camel, the hare, and the rock hyrax; for they chew the cud but do not have cloven hooves; they are unclean for you. 8 Also the swine is unclean for you, because it has cloven hooves, yet does not chew the cud; you shall not eat their flesh or touch their dead carcasses. 9 “These you may eat of all that are in the waters: you may eat all that have fins and scales. 10 And whatever does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean for you. 11 “All clean birds you may eat. 12 But these you shall not eat: the eagle, the vulture, the buzzard, 13 the red kite, the falcon, and the kite after their kinds; 14 every raven after its kind; 15 the ostrich, the short-eared owl, the sea gull, and the hawk after their kinds; 16 the little owl, the screech owl, the white owl, 17 the jackdaw, the carrion vulture, the fisher owl, 18 the stork, the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe and the bat. 19 “Also every creeping thing that flies is unclean for you; they shall not be eaten. 20 “You may eat all clean birds. 21 “You shall not eat anything that dies of itself; you may give it to the alien who is within your gates, that he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner; for you are a holy people to the LORD your God.
Kosher For Gentiles--
Did you notice who was commanded not to eat blood in Leviticus 17:10-16? Was the command given to Israelites only? 55 Now here’s where our translations hurt us again. If you use the NIV or the NASB, you will see that the “alien living among you” is also commanded to abstain from blood. If you are using the KJV or NKVJ, you will see that the “strangers” who live among you are also commanded to abstain from blood. So, who are these aliens and strangers? Well…the Hebrew word translated variously as alien or stranger (ger—reG), is best translated by the word proselyte, as is the case in the Artscroll Chumash. We all know what a proselyte is. A proselyte is a non-Israelite who joins himself to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. With this understanding, we know the Torah teaches that a Gentile who repents and converts must also eat a kosher diet!
Did Yeshua declare all foods clean? (Mark 17:19)
No. Those words were added to several westernized Bibles, and Yeshua was not coming against the dietary laws, rather the ritual (man-made tradition/law) of hand washing. (Mark 7:1-2)
We are not defiled by the certain foods, but rather by breaking YHWHs command not to eat the certain foods.
Note: All the unclean animals/birds/ocean creatures eat dead things.
The `Elijah` to Come (in the last days)
“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse” (Malachi 4:5-6).
`Elohim` (or `Elohiym`)
Hebrew word translated into English as "God". In Hebrew it means "The Mighty One".
`Exodus`
The Hebrew word translated into english as "Exodus" is Shemoth (or Shemot).
`Faith`
How do I act when I am faithful? For that answer, we need to look at the Hebrew thought behind this Greek word. We arrive at Numbers 12:7, for example, where the Greek word pistos translates the Hebrew word 'aman. This Hebrew word paints a very tangible picture. Its primary meaning is to provide stability and confidence.
Faith vs. Works
James 2:23-26 the scriptures say:
23And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 25Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
`False Prophet`
Deuteronomy 13:2-6
If a prophet or one who dreams dreams or does signs and wonders and they come to pass but he says to serve other gods, it is a test to you to see if you love YHWH. 4 You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice; you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.
You must put the false prophet to death (the pharsees saw Yashua as a false prophet, that is why they wanted to put Him to death).
`Fear`
I'm afraid I don't have anything profound to put here yet.
`Fear Yahweh`
Deut. 4:9-10
Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons'sons Specially] the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and [that] they may teach their children.
Deut. 4:26-31
YHWH predicts the diaspra and return of His people and promises to protect them.
26I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed. 27And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you. 28And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. 29But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. 30When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; 31(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.
Ezek. 22:15
And I will scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countries, and will consume thy filthiness out of thee. Why? Shedding blood (vs.3), making idols (vs. 4), Despised His Holy things and profaned His Sabbaths (vs. 8), Sexual perversion/uncovering nakedness inappropriately (vs. 10-11), Extortion and forgetting YHWH (vs. 12).
Who is “thee”? The House of Israel (vs. 18).
`Feasts` (YHWH’s)
The Holy Days—Mo'edim—are referred to as chukim in Leviticus 23 . Statutes are laws from the Holy One that are constant and never change. Read Jeremiah 31:35-36. The word ordinances is actually derived from the Hebrew word chok. These verses capture the true essence of chukim. Chukim are statutes that will never pass away. They are constant and as predictable as the laws of nature governing the movement of the heavenly bodies.
`Grafted In`
Jeremiah 12:16
16And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The LORD liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people.
`Harlotry`
Numbers 15:39-40
And you shall have the tassel, that you may look upon it and remember all the commandments of the LORD and do them, and that you may not follow the harlotry to which your own heart and your own eyes are inclined, 40 and that you may remember and do all My commandments, and be holy for your God.
`Hebrew`
Means to cross over. Abraham by faith left his land when he was told to do so by YHWH. He crossed over into the land YHWH told him to cross over into. He also crossed over into obedience. Also Hebrew means to stand in opposition to. Opposition to what or who? Nimrod (who sought satanic power) wich means “the rebellious one” At the tower of babel when all the people were scattered and languages created, there was a small reminant that kept the Hebrew language.
Abraham Isaac Jacob and his sons (which turned into the twelve tribes) etc. were all Hebrews. The tribe of Judah (Jews) are also Hebrews, so Yeshua who was a Jew, was also a Hebrew. The lost ten tribes scattered among the nations (us) are Hebrews.
The Hebrew language will be restored – Zephaniah 3:9 9For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.
In Hebrew, the word Hebrew also means “pure”
`Israel` The Man/People
Genesis 35:10-12
10 And Elohim said to him, "Your name is Ya’akov (Jacob): Your name shall not be called Ya’akov anymore, but Israel shall be your name.” So He called his name Israel.
`Israel` The Land
Ezek. 20:6 Israel is the glory of all lands.
`Israel’s Enemies`
Deuteronomy 30:7
And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.
`James` Hebrew name is `Ya’acov`
‘Jealous’ - He is a jealous God (Exodus 34:14)
`John` `John the Baptist`
The Hebrew name translated into english as "John" is YaHuW’chanon. It contains the name of Yah (shortened form of Yahweh)
`Justified`
Who is justified? According to scripture, the doers of the law (Torah) are.
Romans 2:13
"...for it is not the hearers [j]of the Law who are [k]just before God, but the doers [l]of the Law will be justified."
James 1:22
"But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves."
`Knowledge`
Hosea 4:6 - - "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."
`Language` (Pure/Hebrew)
Zephaniah 3:9 He will restore a pure language: 9For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of Yahweh, to serve him with one consent.
`Law`
Romans 2:13 - For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but it is the doers of the law who shall be justified.
(The) `Law` vs. `Ordenances`
http://www.lwmlc.com/nailed-to-the-cross.php
`Legalism`
“Legalism is obedience to man’s commandments such as rabbinic man-made laws (Talmud).
`Lies`
Jeramiah 16:19
19O YHWH, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
`Lost Ten Tribes` / `Lost sheep of the House of Israel`
24 But He answered and said, "I was not sent (at this time) except to the lost sheep of the House of Israel.” [Mattithyahu (Matthew) 15:24]
When the twelve tribes were divided:
29 Now it happened at that time, when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahiyah the Shilonite met him on the way; and he had clothed himself with a new garment; and the two were alone in the field. 30 Then Ahiyah took hold of the new garment that was on him, and tore it into twelve pieces. 31 And he said to Jeroboam, "Take for yourself ten pieces (one piece for each of the ten tribes), for thus says YHWH the Elohim of Israel: 'Behold, I will tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to you; 32 but (his son) shall have one tribe for the sake of My servant David, and (one more) for the sake of Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, 33 because they have forsaken Me, and worshiped Ashtoreth (Easter) the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the elohim (god) of the Moabites, and Milcom the elohim (god) of the people of Ammon, and have not walked in My ways, to do what is right in My eyes, and keep My statutes and My judgments, as did his father David. 34 However, I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, because I have made him ruler all the days of his life for the sake of My servant David, whom I chose because he kept My commandments and My statutes. 35 But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand and give it to you — ten tribes. [1st Kings 11:29-35]
`Love`
The Hebrew word for “love” means “to reveal the Father”
In Greek, love is a feeling quite abstract and difficult to define. In Hebrew, the word is defined by action. Your love for someone is shown by what you do for them. This is consistent with scripture.
1 John 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and [e]observe His commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.
John 14:15 (Yahshua speaking)
“ If you love Me, you will keep My commandments."
Vs.21:
21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”
`Marital Refrences`
YHWH married the twelve tribes of Israel and the foreigners/Gentiles with them (mixed multitude) at Mt. Sinai. The setting describes a Hebrew wedding: The cloud of smoke was the chuppah (a canopy in which a Hebrew couple was married under), The Sabbath given was the ring (the Sabbath given as a sign between YHWH and His people (Ex 31:13-17, Ezk. 20:12 and repeated in 20:20). The people accepted the katubah (a wedding contract containing the terms of the agreement/covenant) 24:3 So Moshe came and told the people all the words of YHWH and all the judgments. And all the people answered with one voice and said, “All the words which YHWH has said we will do.” In other words, they said: "I do". Moses and Aaron were the witnesses.
`Husband` (Yeshua as)
Ephesians 5:23
For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
YHWH is a `Jealous` God (Jealous can also mean “to guard and protect”)
Deut. 4:24
For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.
Exodus 34:14
For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
`Matthew`
The Hebrew name translated into the english "Matthew" is MattithYaHuW. It contains the name of Yah (shortened form of Yahweh)
`Mercy Seat`
Lev. 16:15 KJV says “mercy seat”, HIB says “propitiatory shelter”
`Mixing`/`Separation`
K’doshim (You Shall Be Holy)parsha. Tony Robinsons notes pg. 6 Part I.
The deeper teaching (Sod) behind the law of forbidden mixtures pertains to holiness and the necessity of guarding the truth from error. Surely, those of you who have begun to discover your Hebraic roots have seen the extent to which our enemy has mixed error with truth. Secondly, this account of the first forbidden mixture shows us that we should not mix error with Adonai’s commandments (which are the very definition of truth).
What commandment is enclosed by the phrase I am YHVH your God? A commandment to reject Egyptian and Canaanite culture and practices. Leviticus 18:1-5
Just as the law of forbidden mixtures requires that we not mix certain things, so likewise, by rejecting Egyptian and Canaanite culture, these admonitions should prevent Am Yisrael (the people of Israel) from mixing Adonai’s commandments with pagan philosophies.
`Name` (YHWH’s)
His tetragrammaton of His name (YHWH) means “hand”, “behold”, “nail”(or to pierce), “behold”
The letters can be used to spell: “He Was”, “He Is”, “He Will Be”
Genesis 4:26
And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD (YHWH).
Isaiah 42:8
“ I am YHWH, that is My name;I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to [e]graven images...
If you read the Hebrew, you will notice that Genesis 1:1-31 only uses the word God (Elohim,) when referring to the Holy One. In stark contrast, Genesis 2:4-4:26 almost always uses the actual four letter (Tetragrammaton) Name for the Holy One in combination with the word for God (YHVH Elohim,)! It pertains to how He reveals Himself through His name and other designations. We know that YHVH (yod hey vav hey) is the actual four letter Name of the Holy One. Therefore, the Torah has purposefully only used the Name (yod hey vav hey). So what's the point? The point is this: by restricting its usage, the Torah is teaching us that the Name is important.
Interesting side note: Noah named his son Shem. Shem in Hebrew means “name”! -Tony Robinson
Jewish people never actually say the Holy One's Name, YHVH (pronounced Yahweh). Instead of speaking the name Yahweh, they say HaShem (literally, the Name)!
Could righteous Noah have named Shem (Name) in hopes that his descendants would call out in the Holy One's Name as men had after the birth of Seth?
In the next genealogical story, Adonai chose Abram and one of the first things he did was to call upon the Name of the Holy One—Genesis 12:8!
In the story of the tower of Babel, as one, the people wanted to build a tower that would reach up into heaven (to be like the “Most High”), and make a name for themselves.
Interesting side note: Could the symbol of the unfinished pyramid be a representation of the unfinished Tower of Babel (which represents rebellion against YHVH)?
The name “Babylon” means “mixture” (as in the knowledge of good and evil).
Interesting side note: The Hebrew letter mem that makes the “m” sound in “Shem” (which means “name”) turns a verb into a noun.
Deut. 12:11
Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there;
Malachi 3:16
16Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. 17And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.
YHWH is in the process of making Himself knownto the Am Yisrael through His name YHVH. This began in Exodus 3:1-6 when Moses tried to approach the burning bush, but was told by Adonai not to draw near without first taking off his shoes! He is trying to make known to them that He is a Holy, Holy God. He is perfect and totally separate from sin. This aspect of His character had not been revealed to the Patriarchs. When did he ever say to Abraham, "Don't come near to me?” Yet, beginning in Exodus 3, He is constantly reminding Am Yisrael that they had better keep their distance. We have already seen numerous ways that Leviticus 1-17 teaches the Holiness of Adonai. The first five verses of Leviticus 18 teach us that the Holiness of Adonai must also be present in His people! Because He is Holy, Am Yisrael must be holy.
"Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and that day that is coming will set them on fire," says the Lord Almighty. "Not a root or a branch will be left to them. 2 But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall. 3 Then you will trample down the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I do these things," says the Lord Almighty. Malachi 4:1-3
John 17:26
and (BI)I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that (BJ)the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them."
This would indicate the early church (desciples) would have known and used the name of YHWH.
His `name` is `Jealous` (Jealous can also mean “to guard and protect”)
Exodus 34:14
For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
`Name` (YHWH’s, swear by)
Deut. 10:20
You shall fear the LORD your God; you shall serve Him, and to Him you shall hold fast, and take oaths in His name.
The Name
Deuteronomy 32:3
Because I will publish the name of YHWH (KJV - the LORD): ascribe ye greatness unto our God.
`Where` He Has Chosen `His Name` To Be
1st Melekiym (Kings)
11:36 And unto his son will I give one tribe, that Dawiyd (David) my servant may have a light alway before me in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem), the city which I have chosen me to put my name there.
2nd Melekiym (Kings) 21:4
And he built altars in the house of YHWH, of which YHWH said, In Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) will I put my name.
2nd Melekiym (Kings) 21:7
And he set a graven image of the grove that he had made in the house, of which YHWH said to Dawiyd (David), and to Shelomo (Solomon) his son, In this house, and in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem), which I have chosen out of all tribes of Yisra’el, will I put my name for ever:
2nd Melekiym (Kings) 23:27
And YHWH said, I will remove YaHuW’dah (Judah) also out of my sight, as I have removed Yisra’el, and will cast off this city Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) which I have chosen, and the house of which I said, My name shall be there.
2nd Dibre ha Yamiym (Chronicles) 6:6
But I have chosen Yerushalayim (Jerusalem), that my name might be there; and have chosen Dawiyd (David) to be over my people Yisra’el.
2nd Dibre ha Yamiym (Chronicles) 33:4 Also he built altars in the house of YHWH, whereof YHWH had said, In Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) shall my name be forever.
2nd Dibre ha Yamiym (Chronicles) 33:7 And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of Elohiym, of which Elohiym had said to Dawiyd (David) and to Shelomo (Solomon) his son, In this house, and in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem), which I have chosen before all the tribes of Yisra’el, will I put my name for ever:
You see, in the House of YaHuW’dah (Judah) and in Yerushalayim has YaHuWaH chosen to place his name forever! Even the name YaHuWDaH has the Father’s name in it with the letter “dalet” (equivalent to our letter D) added into it! The “dalet” is the 4th letter in the Hebrew Alphabet which means “the door” and Messiah is “the door” to the Father (John 10:7-9)! He is the Lion of YaHuW’dah (Revelation 5:5) and he is the door to the Father! And so in the cities of Judah and Jerusalem is where YaHuWaH has placed his name! - Maria Merola
`The Rock`
Vs.32:4
He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
Malachi 2:1-2
1And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. 2If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith YHWH hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.
The Name of our ‘Savior’
The Saviour's True Name in Hebrew is Yahshua יהושוע or (Yahushua). Yahushua is probably the most accurate, because it contains the real name of the Father in Hebrew; Yahuwah. - Exodus 23:21 - Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.
Many think that it is Yeshua which is written in Hebrew ישׁוּעה This word means salvation and is pronounced yesh-oo'-aw. Strongs Dictionary of Hebrew, Chaldee, and Greek words gives each word a number. The word Yeshua is strongs number H3444 and this is what it says about the word Yeshua: "Feminine passive participle of H3467; something saved, that is, (abstractly) deliverance; hence aid, victory, prosperity: - deliverance, health, help (-ing), salvation, save, saving (health), welfare." So if you say Praise Yeshua you are saying "praise salvation".
In Matthew1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name YAH SHUA: for he shall save his people from their sins. In Psalms 68:4 we are told to praise God by His name YAH. Strongs says: H3050 יהּ Contracted for H3068, and meaning the same; Jah, the sacred name: - Jah, the Lord, most vehement. Pronounced: yâhh (yaw) since the Y in Hebrew is correct letter for the English J equivalent, the word is best written YAH for the creator's name.
Since in Matthew we are told that the angel Gabriel came to Mary and said "He shall save HIS (refering to God's or Yah's) "people", then his name phonetically in English is YAHSHUA. H3467 from H3091 which Strongs says means YahVah or Yahweh Saves or Yah's Salvation. So the most correct way to use the Messiah's name with the word Yeshua is to say: Yahshua is our yeshua. From H3068 יה and H3467 ישע; Compare H1954, H3442. יהושוע notice the Yud Hey (Hebrew right to left) same as in YHWH which is YAH WEH why change it to Yeh as in Yeshua? No linguistic reason other than to not use the Holy Name! http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/Lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H3467&t=KJV
Yahshua is our Salvation! H3467 ישׁע (yaw-shah')
When the Hebrew "A" is placed in front, it is male. The "A" and the "E" has long been an contention for those who have held to the superstition to not use the Holy Sacred NAME. So replacement throughout the ages has been the habit of those who know, but refuse to use the correct Hebrew names for the Creator and the Messiah.
http://www.hiddenbible.com/jesuszeus/jesuszeus.html
"Some authorities, who have spent their entire lives studying the origins of names believe that "Jesus" actually means - "Hail Zeus!" -Les Aron Gosling
Act 2:(16,17,21) but this is that which hath been spoken by the prophet Joel; .... in the last days, saith THE ALMIGHTY that whosoever shall call on the name of the YAH shall be saved.
Romans 10:13 for, Whosoever shall call upon the name YAH shall be saved.
Acts 4:10,12: be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Yahshua Hamashia of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom YAH raised from the dead....And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved.
Matthew 23:39: For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the YAH.
Luke 19:38: saying, Blessed is the King that cometh in the name of the YAH:
John 17:11
Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me,[b] that they may be one as We are.
*****NOTE FROM ARAMAIC NT – A very key passage. Aramaic literally reads that YHWH gave His Name to Yeshua; therefor, he has the Name of his Father within him. This verifies and justifies the name of Yeshua being Yahshua. Y’shua keeps them in YHWHs so when we call upon YHWH in Y’shua’s name, we are calling on YHWH for Salvation. As the Name of YHWH is in Mashiyach, so are we to have the name of Mashiyach in us, which means that as followers of Y’shua we are to walk according to His righteousness, observe Torah and walk in the anointing of the Ruach ha Kodesh as Mashiyach demonstrated to us.
John 12:12:
On the morrow a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Yahshua was coming to Jerusalem, 13: took the branches of the palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried out, Hosanna: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the YAH, even the King of Israel.
John 5:43:
I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
`New Testament`
The "New Testament" is what westernized bibles call the last twenty-seven books of the Bible. Calling them the "New Testament" is incorrect because there is no such thing as "New Testament" in the original scriptures.
The Tanakh is what westernized bibles call "The Old Testament". Calling it the "Old Testament" is incorrect because there is no such thing as "Old Testament" in the original scriptures as well.
Why does it matter? Because people equate "old" to something obsolete or replaced and "new" as something superior or replacing something, when that may not be the case at all (such as this case). When the last twenty-seven books of the Bible are called the "New Testament", people wrongly tend to consider it more important or superior to the Tanakh.
Translators miss-translate "Covenant" as "Testament" then they (or people in general) miss-use it to refer to the first thirty-nine books of the Bible correctly known as "Tanakh", which is a sort of acronym for the Torah (first five books), Nevi'im (the prophets) and Ketuvim (the writings).
A covenant is not a collections of books, but rather a contract, thus the Old Covenant is the Old Contract and the New Covenant is the New Contract. It was the "Old Covenant (the Torah written on stone) that was obsolete and done away with by the "New Covenant (the Torah written on our hearts of flesh).
What is called the "New Testament" would more correctly be called the "Messianic Writings", to avoid misunderstanding/confusion/deception.
`Offering`
In Hebrew, the word “offering” means “to draw near to” (puts a new light on things doesn't it?)
`Old Testament`

` Oral Law`/ `Rabbinic Law` Categories
Halahcot – Pharisiac/Rabbinic textual interpretations on the Written Torah. Mining out a rule or teaching (a drash) from the Torah. Context is irrelevant.
An example of Halacot is Deuteronomy 30:11-12
11 “For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach. 12 It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will go up to heaven for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’
The Rabbinic Halachot version of this verse would say:It is not in heaven,
They remove what they want from scripture and leave only five words from a text that originally contained fifty two words.
Words of a famous Rabbi:
…”If a prophet testifies that the Holy One (YHWH), Blessed be He, told him that the law of a certain commandment is such and such or that the reasoning of a certain sage is correct, that prophet must be executed…as it is written, “it is not in heaven”. Thus God did not permit us to learn from the prophets, only from the Rabbis who are men of logic and reason.” -Rabbi Rambom
Takanot – New enacted religious laws added to the Written Torah with the authority of the “Oral Torah”. Scripture is not consulted as a proof text for these laws. These are added to the Written Torah with authority of the Oral Torah.
An example of Takanot:
A law requiring one to pray only with fixed (structured) prayers, which includes using the rabbi’s formula, through the spiritual powers in the rabbis. When they say “as we are commanded” or “as we have been commanded”, they mean by the rabbis YHWH commanded these things, because they think they have authority on Earth given by YHWH to make laws such as:
- Touching a Holy Book makes the hands unclean.
- A law forbidding a Jew from using bread, wine, and/or oil of Gentiles. (Acts 10)
An example of these kinds of laws being mentioned in scripture is in Colossians 2:20-21
20 If you have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees, such as, 21 “Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!”
Ma’asim (means “works”)
– Rabbinic precedents or “works” that lead to the establishing of new laws that are binding on all Israel, whether in the land or in exile.
In Matthew 23:2 it says:
(Yeshua) saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses; 3 therefore all that they tell you, do and observe, but do not do according to their deeds; for they say things and do not do them.
In the Hebrew Matthew, this verse reads:
2 saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses; 3 therefore all that they tell, keep and do. And their takanot and ma’asim do not do; for they say and do not do.
In westernized versions as well as the Hebrew version of this verse, the entire meaning is changed by the smallest Hebrew letter; the yod. The yod changes the meaning from “he” to “they”. The meaning changes from do what “he” (Moses) says, to what “they” (the scribes and Pharisees) say to do. The chair of Moses is a principle of authority, but through this tiny change, the scribes and Pharisees using their made up oral law use the pretense to usurp that authority and give it to themselves.
An example of ma'asim:
A rule or work forbidding one to turn on a light on Shabbat because a famous Rabbi did not do it, so it must be what the oral law requires.
Especially in Paul's writings, whenever you see the phrase "works of the law" he is speaking of ma'asim. This is one reason he seems to contradict himself in his writings, by being against the "works of the law", but for "the Law" (Torah).
Minhagim – Legalized traditions (local community customs) that become National Law by the sheer fact that the customs are practiced normatively. “Custom in Israel is Torah Law”. In other words, customs become law because “everyone is doing it”.
An example of minhagim:
A law that say one may not walk even four cubits without his head covered or make a blessing even while seated without his head covered. This became a law because everyone followed it (hence the small round skull caps worn by orthodox Jews).
Minhagim in scripture:
1 Some men came down from Judea and began teaching the brethren, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved. (this of course is not true).
Arbitrary assessment (based on Rabbinic writings of laws and rules) of the Pharisaic (Rabbinic) Rules of Law and Authority
Rule #1 from the oral law: Even YHWH must obey the Rabbis (using Deuteronomy 17:11 out of context and Job 22:28 out of context)
Rule #2 from the oral law: It is ok of Judaism’s leaders to misrepresent or exaggerate as needed.
If a person heard a ruling and it seems to him tht the law is thus, he is permitted to say it in the name of a great person so that the people will accept it from him. -Magan Avraham. Orach Chayim 156b (canonical commentary on the 17 century Shutchan Aruch
In other words a lie is ok if it comes from a famous person.
Rule #3 from the oral law: Obeying the Rabbis is more important than obeying YHWH.
“Rava expounded: My son! Be careful concerning rabbinical decrees even more than the Torah. Because the Torah contains prohibitions, while the rabbinical decrees: Anyone who violates a rabbinical decree is worthy of death.” –Babylonian Talmud. Eruvin 21b
Rule #4 from the oral law: The Rabbis are always right even if they are wrong
“Even when they (the Rabbis) decide that left should be right or right left, when they are mistaken or misled in their judgment, they must be obeyed. –Rosh Hashanah 25b.
Rule #5 from the oral law: Legislating reforms in Torah is not a violation of the Torah
Rabbi Baruch Paz, Yeshivat Beit El (in Israel) in an article on “Adding, Uprooting, and Rabbinic Authority”:… it is permissible to legislate a violation of the Torah for this is not really a violation as such, but the preference of one Torah value over another. (Oral Torah over the Written Torah of Moses)
Rule #6 from the oral law: Rabbinic enactments are Torah
The sages hav imparted to their enactments the same force as that of Pentateuch laws (the Laws of Moses). –Ketubot 84a
Rule #7 from the oral law: Incline after the Majority
The Rabbis use Exodus 23:2 to justify their law…
2 You shall not follow the masses in doing evil, nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after a multitude in order to pervert justice ;
But they remove all the words except “turn aside after a multitude”. In other words, majority (of Rabbis) rules even if it is wrong and corrupt.
Rule #8 from the oral law: It is not in Heaven
Deuteronomy 30:11-12
11 “For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach. 12 It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will go up to heaven for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it? ’
…but they take all the words away except “It is not in heaven”
Rule #9 from the oral law: The S’yag or “Fence”
A fence is put up to protect the written Torah. The common people are kept away from the Written Torah. They say “we are the authority of the Written Torah leading you to it”, but that is a lie. They are leading people away from the Written Torah and to the oral torah because it contains their rules (a man-made system of religion). Matthew 23:13
`Ordinances`
The word ordinances is actually derived from the Hebrew word chok. These verses capture the true essence of chukim. Chukim are statutes that will never pass away. They are constant and as predictable as the laws of nature governing the movement of the heavenly bodies. (Jeremiah 31:35-36)
The Holy Days—Mo'edim—are referred to as chukim in Leviticus 23 .
`Paul`
In Hebrew, the name translated into the english name "Paul" is `Shaul`
Paul was a first century religious Jew. As such, he commonly used slang terms to describe certain groups of people. When we identify these terms as slang, then their true meanings become clear. However, when we do not know that these words are slang, then his words are very easy to misunderstand.
`Peter`
In Hebrew, the name translated in to the english name "Peter" is `Keefa`.
`Propitiatory Shelter`
In most scriptures, “propitiatory shelter” is used when KJV says “atonement”, but in Lev. 16:15 KJV says “mercy seat” while HIB says “propitiatory shelter”
In Lev. 16:20, “propitiatory shelter” (HIB) while KJV says “reconciling”.
`Rest`
Matthew 11:28-30
28 “Come to Me, all [z]who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. 30 For My yoke is [aa]easy and My burden is light.”
Jeremiah 6:16
16 Thus says YHWH, “Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; And you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’
Lack of
Deut. 28:58-67
58 “If you are not careful to observe all the words of this law which are written in this book, to fear this honored and awesome name, YHWH your Elohim,…65 Among those nations you shall find no rest, and there will be no resting place for the sole of your foot; but there YHWH will give you a trembling heart, failing of eyes, and despair of soul. 66 So your life shall hang in doubt before you; and you will be in dread night and day, and shall have no assurance of your life. 67 In the morning you shall say, ‘Would that it were evening!’ And at evening you shall say, ‘Would that it were morning!’ because of the dread of your heart which you dread, and for the sight of your eyes which you will see.
`Restoration`
Malachi 3:6&7
6 “ For I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob. 7 Yet from the days of your fathers You have gone away from My ordinances And have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” Says the LORD of hosts. “ But you said, ‘ In what way shall we return?’
Deuteronomy (Devarim) 29:9-28
Vs. 14-15 He is saying the covenant is cut with those standing there that day and those who are not there. (that’s us)
-It speaks of YHWH pouring out His anger and curses on those (and their children) for those who have forsaken His covenant by worshiping other gods. The land as well. The then kicks them out of the land.
Vs. 29
The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but (AE)the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law.
2 Devarim 30:1-10 s
Remember these things while you are in whatever land YHWH has sent you to.
-you shall turn back to YHWH and obey His voice according to what He commanded .
-and YHWH will have compassion on you and will return you from all the lands He scattered you to.
-and He will circumcise your heart and that of your seed, that you may live.
-He will put curses on those who persecute you.
-Vs. 8 repeats: You shall return and obey His voice and do His commandments.
-and He will make you prosper (like America after the puritans turned back to His ways).
Deut. 30:1-5 Will gather you again out of diaspra
`Sabbath`
Why It Is Special
Genesis 2:2-3
And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.
Ezekiel 46:1
Thus saith the Lord GOD; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened.
Bear No Burden On The Sabbath
Jeremiah 17:21-22
Thus saith the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem; 22Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.
Blessed For Keeping
Isaiah 56:6
Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
Circumcision On
John 7:22-23
Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man. 23If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?
The Commandment Given
Exodus 20:8-11
“ Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
As a Covenant:
Ex 31:16
Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, [for] a perpetual covenant.
Healing On
Matthew 12:10-13 (also Mark 3:4, Luke 6:6-9, Luke 13:14-16, Luke 14:3-5, John 5:9, John 7:23, John 9:14)
10And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him. 11And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? 12How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. 13Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
Lord Of The Sabbath
Mark 2:27 (also Luke 6:5)
27And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: 28Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I
[am] the LORD that sanctify them.

Keeping Sabbaths and New Moon Festivals in the New Millinium
Isaiah 66:23-24
And it shall come to pass, [that] from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.
2 By this we know that we love the children of Elohim: when we love Elohim, and keep His commandments. 3 For this is the love of Elohim: that we keep His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome (to us). [1st John 5:2-3]
No Buying Or Selling On
Nehemiah 10:31
And if the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day: and that we would leave the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt Buying And Selling On Is Defiling And An Evil Thing.
Nehemiah 13:15-18
In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals. 16There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem. 17Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day? 18Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath.
Vs.21-22
Then I testified against them, and said unto them, Why lodge ye about the wall? if ye do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the sabbath. 22And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy.
Amos 8:5
Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?
Not Doing Your Own Pleasure On Sabbath
Isaiah 58:13-14
If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: 14Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

The `Shema`
Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Note: HIB does not include “diligently” or any word for it. Also note: “And you shall love you neighbor as yourself” is not there.
Shortened version: Deut. 11:18
`Sin`
1 John 3:4
4Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
`Statutes`
I will always refer to chukim as statutes. What are chukim? Chukim are laws from the Holy One that are constant and never change. Read Jeremiah 31:35-36. The word ordinances is actually derived from the Hebrew word chok. These verses capture the true essence of chukim. Chukim are statutes that will never pass away. They are constant and as predictable as the laws of nature governing the movement of the heavenly bodies. Did you know that the Holy Days—Mo'edim—are referred to as chukim in Leviticus 23?
Deuteronomy 6:1-2
“Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgments which the LORD your God has commanded to teach you, that you may observe them in the land which you are crossing over to possess, that you may fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.
Statutes are laws from the Holy One that are constant and never change. Read Jeremiah 31:35-36.
`Study`
2 Timothy 2:15
15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
`Tabernacle`
In Lev. 16:20,
“Tabernacle” (KJV) is called “the tent of appointment” (HIB)
`Tanakh` - The Tanakh is what westernized bibles call "The Old Testament". Calling it the "Old Testament" is incorrect because there is no such thing as "Old Testament" (or "New Testament"). Why does it matter? Because people equate it to something obsolete or replaced, when that is not the case at all. Translators miss-translate "Covenant" as "Testament" then they (or people in general) miss-use it to refer to the Tanakh which is a sort of acronym for the Torah (first five books), Nevi'im (the prophets) and Ketuvim (the writings).
`Traditions Of Men`
Mark 7:5-9
Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, “Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?” 6 He answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:‘ This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. 7 And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ 8 For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men[c]—the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do.” 9 He said to them, “All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.
`Tithe`/`Giving to the poor`
Leviticus 19:9-10 commands that Am Yisrael give to the poor.
`Torah` / `Commandments`
Genesis 26:4-5
And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; 5Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws
Deut. 4:1-2
Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do
[them], that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.
Vs. 2
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish [ought] from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
Deut. 4:6
Keep therefore and do [them]; for this [is] your wisdom and your understanding…
Vs.8
And what nation [is there so] great, that hath statutes and judgments [so] righteous as all this law
Note: Leviticus 1-17 taught us about the Holiness of Adonai. The remainder of the book will teach us how Am Yisrael can partake of His Holiness through obedience to the commandments. Therefore, as we continue to study Leviticus, let us do so with the understanding that Adonai is concerned that Am Yisrael partake in His Holiness. To ensure that they accomplish this goal, He gave them a special set of laws—the Torah.
Deut 4: 9-10
Only take heed to thyself (REMEMBER), and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons'sons [especially] the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and [that] they may teach their children.
Vs.13
And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, [even] ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.
Deut. 11:28-29
26 “Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: 27 the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you today; 28 and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside from the way which I command you today, to go after other gods which you have not known.
Deut. 32:46
46 and he said to them: “Set your hearts on all the words which I testify among you today, which you shall command your children to be careful to observe—all the words of this law.
Revelation 2:5
Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.
Not Keeping The Commandments Is Harlotry
Numbers 15:39-40
And you shall have the tassel, that you may look upon it and remember all the commandments of the LORD and do them, and that you may not follow the harlotry to which your own heart and your own eyes are inclined, 40 and that you may remember and do all My commandments, and be holy for your God.
Yeshua in the Torah
You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me (John 5:39). If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me (John 5:46).
17 “Think not that I came to destroy the Law and the Prophets! I did not come to destroy, but (only) to fulfill! 18 For truly I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, nothing at all shall pass from the Torah (the Law), till all is fulfilled! 19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever does and teaches them, this one shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven!” [Mattithyahu (Matthew) 5:17-19]
Matthew 5:17-21—Yeshua states that the Torah functions as the guideline for the lifestyle of His disciples, to which obedience and/or disobedience will determine their future status in the Kingdom. Torah demonstrates lifestyle.
• Romans 10:4—Paul states that the Torah's ultimate goal/purpose was to lead Israel to Yeshua the Messiah. Torah leads us to Messiah.
• Romans 7:7—Paul states that the Torah defines sin. Torah teaches what is clean and unclean, right and wrong, good and evil, what causes death and brings life.
• Galatians 3:23—Paul states that the Torah was given to preserve the nation until the Messiah came. Torah preserves individuals’ lives until they come to know Messiah.
• Luke 24:44 & John 5:39, 46—Yeshua explicitly states Torah taught about Him. Torah teaches us about the Messiah and His role in redemption.
• Romans 5:20—Paul states that the Torah was given to cause offenses (sin) to increase. Torah has a specific effect on sin in people.
He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.
John 14:21
The Torah is the Word, so the Word made flesh is the Torah made flesh! Psalm 119:17-18
The generation of Jewish believers in Yeshua following the death of the apostles called Yeshua “The Torah”
To be “sinless”, Yeshua had to be Torah observant.
‘Tribulation’
Narrow or tight place, -trouble, an oponent
The `Truth`
Psalm 119:142
142 Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, And Your law is truth.
`Tzizit` (Tekhelet)
Numbers 15:38-40
“Speak to the children of Israel: Tell them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a blue thread in the tassels of the corners. 39 And you shall have the tassel, that you may look upon it and remember all the commandments of the LORD and do them, and that you may not follow the harlotry to which your own heart and your own eyes are inclined, 40 and that you may remember and do all My commandments, and be holy for your God.
The 'Wide And Narrow Gates'
There was a large gate to the city, and a small gate where the Elders sat waiting to take what was owed by people coming into the city. You could go through the narrow gate and deal with your debts and resolve your legal problems, then be free to go anywhere you wanted free to walk around, or you could go through the wide gate and be subject to thieves and murderers or be arrested for not taking care of your debts and legal matters. Because the masses of people who aren't willing to take care of ther debts and legal problems took the wide gate.
`Wisdom` and `Understanding`
Deut. 4:6
Keep therefore and do [them (commandments/instructions)]; for this [is] your wisdom and your understanding…
`Works`
John 5:19 –
19Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
John 8:29 -
29And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
John 8:39 –
39They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
John 10:32 –
32Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
`Works of the law`
The phrase "works of the law" refers to the ORAL law (Talmud) and various MAN-MADE rulings regarding how we should follow the Torah which are NOT in the WRITTEN TORAH.The "works of the law" that Christ and Paul condemned were the human additions to God's Law which made it a system of bondage and misery. Neither of them were condemning the keeping of God's commandments or referring to obedience to God's Law as "works of the law" -- not at all!
For as many as are of the works of the law are under the CURSE: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them" (Gal.3:10).
This is proven and upheld by the Dead Sea Scrolls.
`Worship`
Deuteronomy 8:19
19And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.
4 Requirements of `gentile converts`

Deut. 12:11
Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there;
Malachi 3:16
(see `Tanakh`)
2 You shall not follow the masses in doing evil, nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after a multitude in order to pervert justice ;

The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but (AE)the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law.

`Sabbath`
Why It Is Special
Genesis 2:2-3

Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. 13Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
Lord Of The Sabbath
Mark 2:27 (also Luke 6:5)
27And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: 28Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

`Scapegoat`
Means: “the innocent party who takes the place of the guilty party.”
`Sevened`
Lev 26:18
18And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.
The `Shema`
Deuteronomy 6:4-9
“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one![b] 5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. 6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
