Keeping The Commandments/Instructions of YHWH

I said, "Please, YHWH! God of heaven! You Great and Fearsome God, who keeps His covenant and extends grace to those who love Him and observe His commandments! Nehemiah 1:5
Psalms 103:17-18
But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting On those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children, 18 To such as keep His covenant, And to those who remember His commandments to do them.
Romans 2:13
For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but it is the doers of the law who shall be justified.
Matthew 19:17
17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good?[f] No one is good but One, that is, God.[g] But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
1 John 2:3-7
3And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. 7Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment (The Torah) is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
5 I said, "Please, YHWH! God of heaven! You Great and Fearsome God, who keeps His covenant and extends grace to those who love Him and observe His commandments! Let Your ear now be attentive and Your eyes be open, so that You will listen to the prayer of Your servant, which I am praying before You these days, day and night, for the people of Isra'el Your servants — even as I confess the sins of the people of Isra'el that we have committed against You. Yes, I and my father's house have sinned. We have deeply offended You. We have not observed the commandments, laws or rulings You ordered Your servant Moshe (Moses). 8Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations: 9But if ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there. Nehemiah 1:5-11a
“O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever” (Deuteronomy 5:29)
Of the Ten Commandments, the only one that says to remember to do it, is the fourth commandment which says to remember to keep the Sabbath. It is no coincidence that Christianity has "forgotten" to keep it, keeping sunday (or no day) instead. It is also no coincidence the very last scriptures (Malachi 4:4-6) of the Older Testament says to remember to keep the Law of Moses/Torah, because He knew Christianity would "forget" to keep it too (Christianity claims it was done away with at the cross).
Yeshua Himself said;
17 “Think not that I came to destroy the Law and the Prophets! I did not come to destroy, but (only) to fulfill! 18 For truly I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, nothing at all shall pass from the Torah (the Law), till all is fulfilled! 19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever does and teaches them, this one shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven!” [Mattithyahu (Matthew) 5:17-19]
So the question becomes: What does "fulfill" mean? Christianity's view is it means "to do away with". In Hebrew
to "fulfill" means "to carry out" or "bring to realization", "to perform or do as in a persons duty"; or "to obey" or "follow" or "do in order to satisfy" or "make happen".
Do any of these definitions sound like "to do away with"?
The best example I can give is a stop sign. We are required by the law to stop at a stop sign. Once we have fulfilled the requirement of the law by stopping at that stop sign, what happens at the next stop sign? We fulfilled the law at the last stop sign, so the law is done away with, right? Do you see how ridiculous that argument is?
In Matthew 5:46 Yeshua said this:
46For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.
Note: Moses never mentioned Yeshua by name, so what did Moses speak about?
The Torah/commandments/instructions of YHWH.
The books of Moses (first five books of the Bible/Torah) contain shadows (hints) of Yeshua on almost every page!
1 John 5:2-3
2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
2 John 6:
"And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it." 2 John 9:
YHWH doesn’t change. So who has changed? Man (the church of Rome) changed the times and laws.
" Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Y'shua, hath not G-d. He that abideth in the doctrine of Y'shua, he hath both the Father and the Son."
Yeshua warns that there will be a large group of people calling Him ‘Lord’ who will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven:
21 “Not everyone who (calls) Me ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven; but (only) the ones who do the will of My Father in Heaven. 22 (For) many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord! Lord; did we not prophesy in Your Name; and in Your Name cast out demons; and in Your Name perform many works of power?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you! Depart from Me, you who work Lawlessness’.” [Mattithyahu (Matthew) 7:21-23]
What does lawlessness mean? Torahlessness or without Torah
It might seem impossible that the Messiah would reject the Christians; but the Christians are the only group on earth who:
1. Are a ‘many’ that
2. Call upon His Name,
3. Cast out demons in His Name, and
4. Perform many works of power in His Name;
5. But work Lawlessness (do not keep the Law)
2 In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. [Yochanan (John) 14:2-4]
Yeshua is surely a good Son. If He intends to bring His bride back to His Father’s House, then why would He take a bride, who insists on worshipping and resting on those pagan festival days that His Father always said He hated?
Why indeed, when other virgins love Him, and want to keep all of His Father’s Commandments?
When Solomon sinned against YHWH by worshiping other gods, He didn’t discipline Solomon for the sake of David (whome He loved), but Solomon’s son instead. Why did YHWH love David so much?
YHWH tells Jeroboam (through Ahiyah) that he loved David, because David kept his Commandments. Ahiyah prophesied that if Jeroboam will also keep the Commandments, then the House of Israel will be established as the new lead house:
37 So I will take you, and you shall reign over all your heart desires, and you shall be king over Israel. 38 Then it shall be, if you heed all that I command you, walk in My ways, and do what is right in My sight, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as My servant David did, then I will be with you and build for you an enduring house, as I built for David; and will give Israel to you.
In Luke 8:21, Yeshua Himself said this:
21And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.
Christianity uses the writings of Paul to conclude the law (Torah) has been done away with, but ignore this statement by Paul himself to the contrary:
“According to the Way which they say is a sect (or a heresy), so I worship the ancestral One; believing all things that are written in the Torah and the Prophets!” [Acts 24:14]
Even in the first century they tried to say it, However, despite the fact that Shaul spent the equivalent of thousands of dollars to prove that he still kept the Torah, Kefa tells us that there were those in his time (in the First Century) who used Shaul’s words to suggest that the Torah (including circumcision) was abolished:
Even Peter tried to warn people about the twisting of Scripture to support the false claim:
15 And think of the long-suffering of our Master as Salvation (literally:Yeshua), as also our beloved brother
Shaul wrote to you, according to the wisdom given to him; 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them concerning these things, in which some things are hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable twist, to their destruction, as also the rest of the Scriptures. 17 Then beloved, you being forewarned, watch; lest being led by the error of Lawlessness you should fall from your own steadfastness. [2nd Peter 3:15-17]
Where are Peter's writings of warning about Paul's writings? After Paul's writings. Why?
It was, of course, the Christians who were twisting Shaul’s words, and using them as an excuse to do away with the Torah. understanding that Love is the heart of the Law (as they do), Christians tend to view outward
manifestations of the Covenant with disdain. They wonder how important such things as the Sabbath, the Passover and the Circumcision can possibly be, when Love is the thing that matters most.
What Christians tend to forget is that, in Hebraic thought, obedience is the proof of love. Just as John the Baptist told us that he who does not obey does not truly believe, the Apostle John said that the proof of our love is shown by our observance of His Commands:
2 By this we know that we love the children of Elohim: when we love Elohim, and keep His commandments.
In the end it still seems to be important:
14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. Revelation 22:14
Faith vs. Works -
You can’t separate them. They go hand in hand. Faith without works is dead.
Keep His commandments – The Greek word translated to “keep” means: “to attend to something very carefully”, “to preserve/guard it”, “to hold fast to it”, “to not allow it to get away from you”.
The word “commandments”
5Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. Remember; Abraham was before Mt. Sinai. The word translated as “Commandments” in English comes from the Hebrew word that means: “instructions”. Abraham simply obeyed YHWH’s instructions and it was credited to him as righteousness.
The Apostles or Yeshua Himself did not change the laws/Torah, because even Yeshua said they were the Father’s. (John 7:16-17 - So Jesus answered them and said, "My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me.”
The common misconception is the Torah/law was done away with, and we are under the age of grace. The problem is many Christians confuse grace with license, and since all sins are forgiven, they can live how they want, and with no set of rules (Torah) to guide them, they do exactly that. This is seen by non-Christians as hypocrisy.
The Ten Commandments came from the Older Testament (Exodus 19) from the law of Moses/Torah. Who gave us the right to pick and choose which law of YHWH we would embrace?
It is not “law” as a code of conduct, like we think today but rather, an actual wedding contract.
He made the contract with those who were there at Mt. Sinai and those who were not there. That’s us folks.
That included all the statutes and ordinances. The Tabernacle and everything about it (furnishings, sacrificial system) were patterns developed according to Heavenly blueprints. They were to teach the bride how she should interact with her Husband. They were to teach the bride the terms of the wedding contract. “All that you say we will do”(“I do”) .
Exodus 25:9&40
9"According to all that I am going to show you, as the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furniture, just so you shall construct it. 40" See that you make them after the pattern for them, which was shown to you on the mountain.
Hebrews 8:4-5
4For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, just as Moses was warned by God when he was about to erect the tabernacle; for, "SEE," He says, "THAT YOU MAKE all things ACCORDING TO THE PATTERN* WHICH WAS SHOWN YOU ON THE MOUNTAIN."
*The word “pattern” (Strongs #8403) used here in Hebrew is “togneet”. The root of that word is (strongs 1129) banah. Benah can be broken down further to a two letter root bn (bet nun) which means “son of” and the “ah” suffix infers “the ability to conceive seed”. It can also infer a “mother that gives birth to a son”.
The “t” in “togneet” the Hebrew letter tav when used at the beginning of the word infers third person future tense - “you will”, so it could be said like this:
You will by observing these patterns, produce a son who will begin to build a family name” (“You” being everyone who was there and in the loins of them - those who were not there/us).
So we can produce sons to build a family name (by keeping Torah and teaching our children to do the same).
Believing the Torah was done away with is to support replacement theology saying Israel is separated from salvation.
The word “Israel” in Hebrew means: “One who stands upright before El” (The Mighty One)
Jacob’s (the father of the 12 tribes) name was changed to Israel when he wrestled with the angel and wouldn’t let him go until the angel blessed him. Shortly after that, Jacob (Israel) divided his camp into two camps in order to protect the children of his wives (as opposed to the children of their servants) from Esau (a form of the evil one).
His chosen people (Israel) is all twelve tribes including those scattered to the nations (us).
YHWH loves his bride. Would he give her instructions to do what she couldn’t do, and then condemn her for the failure He knew was going to take place?
Deut 30:11-14
11"For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach. 12"It is not in heaven, that you should say ‘Who will go up to heaven for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?' 13"Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, 'Who will cross the sea for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?' 14"But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe (do) it.
The man at the wedding without the proper garments -Matthew 22:14
11"But when the king came in to look over the dinner guests, he saw a man there who was not dressed in wedding clothes, 12and he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here without wedding clothes?' And the man was speechless. 13"Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' 14"For many are called, but few are chosen."
What was he wearing? He wasn’t wearing white. White is the garment for weddings. White represents righteousness.
In James 2:23-26 the scriptures say:
23And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God*. 24Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 25Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
“Friend of YHWH” is a covenant term. To be in covenant means you understand the terms of the covenant and contract. A covenant is a blood covenant, so there is no way out of it upon penalty of death.
No one (in their right mind) would enter into a covenant without understanding the terms of it.
Revelation 3:18
18I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
In Biblical times, it was only the Husband that could write a certificate of divorce. Not the woman/wife. The reason the wife had no choice is because she was bought with a price.
1 Corinthians 6:20
20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
Based on Hebrew customs, the engagement process (when the husband to be went to prepare a home/place for them) could last up to two years. To YHWH, each day is as a thousand years (2 Peter 3:8). Yeshua has been gone for two thousand years (John 14:2-3 2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also).
In Hebrew custom it was the father that had the ultimate say in choosing the bride for the son.
John 6:44
44No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
The Sabbath
In the Jewish community, the Sabbath was considered a type of the bride. The husband waits under the wedding canopy for the bride on the seventh day. That’s one of the reasons we celebrate the seventh day Sabbath. The Sabbath is a weekly rehersal of the bride and groom coming together.
The Hebrew word for “law”/”Torah” is “yahra”. It means “to hit the mark”.
The Greek word for “sin” is “haramontano”. It means “to miss the mark”.
The Greek word used for law/Torah is “nomos”.
The Greek word “anomos” means to be against or without the law or Torah.
2 Thessalonians 2:7
7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.
1 John 3:4
4Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Matthew 5:17
Yeshua speaking, says: 17"Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.
In Rabbinical customs the terms “abolish” and “fulfill” are used in pharisaical arguments and concerning discussions of the law/Torah, “abolish” /”destroy” means you disagree with the teacher. In the same context, to “fulfill the law” means to “correctly interpret”. This makes sense when you consider one of the meanings of the word “fulfill” in Hebrew is: “to cut straight”
To be “sinless”, Yeshua had to be Torah observant. He was the example we are to follow.
Yeshua Himself said;
17 “Think not that I came to destroy the Law and the Prophets!
