Torah?
In its most basic definition, Torah is the instructions of YHWH contained in the first five books of the Bible; Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy, otherwise known as the writings of Moses, which includes but is not limited to the Ten Commandments.
Consider this analogy by Jeff Gilbert of Hebrew Nation Radio:
Torah is your rules in your house for your children to follow so they can receive blessings from you. You set guidelines in your house and say basically, this is what I will do if you obey me, and you give them the command of what obedience is. Each family pretty much has the same list: Honor your father and mother, don’t steal, don’t cheat, don’t lie, etc.
That is the torah for your house. The Torah of YHWH is the Torah for His house. All those who have already become His children have a list of rules, in order to live in blessings if you obey and in discipline if you choose not to obey. Choosing not to obey, is called sin. The biblical definition of sin is transgression of Torah/the law. If you choose to obey, there are blessings, not in order to become born again/saved, but because you already are.

"Salvation is not by works and never has been! It is by faith, through grace, but it is evidenced by works (James 2:18). And if you love God, you show it by obeying his commands (1 John 5:3). So please do not think that you are attempting to earn your salvation if you begin following the Torah.
The idea that New Testament believers are free from the law (Torah) comes from several New Testament scriptures which have been misunderstood."
The Hebrew, word for "Torah" is spelled Torh with Hebrew letters (of course).
The books of Genesis and Exodus (in authentic Hebrew scrolls), contain a very interesting pattern: every fiftieth letter spells the word T-O-R-H. The books of Numbers and Deuteronomy, contain the same pattern, only backwards (every fiftieth letter spells the word "Torh" backwards: H-R-O-T).
This seems to point to the book of Leviticus (the central book). In the book of Leviticus, the Hebrew letters for Y-H-W-H is spelled with every seventh letter! For a short video presentation of this, click HERE .
It is no coincidence, that in our English Bibles, the very last words of Malachi (Chap 4 vs. 4) are: "Remember the Torah of Moses my servant which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel and the statutes and ordinances. Behold I send you Elija the prophet before the great and terrible day of YHWH, and He shall turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the heart of the children to their fathers lest I come and smite the Earth with a curse.
If Israel does what Israel was given the job to do from the Almighty Creator of the World Himself; YHWH/Yahweh, then the whole world would get the blessing. If Israel fails at the job it is given, the whole world reaps the curse. This is like how the world is cursed through Adam and blessed through Yeshua.
Since “Israel” is not just the people in Israel or the people who have Jewish heritage. According to scripture, anyone who wants to be YHWH’s people and do what He says, have the right to be Israel. Besides, “the Jews” (the tribe of Judah) are only one of twelve tribes known as “Israel” (ten of which were scattered among the nations for not following His ways according to Ezekiel 22:15).
If you say you don’t feel like doing something you won’t. If it is a law of society or judicial or custom, then it becomes a question of “who are you to tell me what to do, I can do what I want”.
In the scriptures, YHWH simply says: “These are My ways. If you choose (by free will) to walk in my ways, then you by your own self control, align yourself with Me”. No one is going to make you do it. No one is going to force you to do it. Not even Me.
We have a free choice, but if we choose to be His people, He says “These are my ways, and any other ways than My ways, are a contradiction to My ways. Now you have a choice. Are you going to do it My way, or some other way?”
YHWH says “I’ll make it easy. Look at your hand. You have four fingers that are in a collective group, then you have your opposing thumb. That’s how it works. YHWH’s ways are opposing the norm (the ways of the world).
You might say, “well I’ve got these fingers and they are all in a group and who’s to say what is right and wrong”. He says “My ways are different. My ways are going to be opposing or set apart.” YHWH designed it that way on purpose. His ways are distinctly different.
What are His ways? They are called Torah. The Greek language mistranslates it as “the law”. In Hebrew (the language most of the Bible was written in) it means “teaching” or “instruction” and refers to the first five books of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy, in which the teaching and instruction is given.
You might say: “they would be ok if they weren’t so contrary and conflicting from what I want to do, I would rather blend in to the world”. That’s why they’re different. They are contrary and conflicting to what you would do by your own natural inclination (the world). Yeshua said “Take up your cross and follow Me”. There is a Christian term: “Crucify yourself”. In other words you have to say: “I am going to make the rational conscious choice to not do what I think is good to do, or what I want to do, instead I’m going to look at scripture and do what it says to do”. Now you are intentionally putting yourself into the position of a slave or a bondservant or a bondsman (you serve satan if you don’t serve YHWH), by saying “I’m not going to make my own decisions, I’m not going to do what I want to do of my own volition. I’m going to submit my own authority and go under someone else’s authority. That someone else is YHWH.
Why would anyone want to do that?
Because YHWH says: “If you will come under my covering, I will cover you, then someone has to answer to Me if they mess with you. But if you are on your own, you are on your own, defending yourself. Leviticus 23.
He said come under My covering. The Sabbath Day and the Festivals (Feast Days) are the sign the He is our God and we are His people, in which case He has sworn an oath seven times (seventh day, seven festivals). YHWH says: “Those who keep My Sabbaths, and those seven Festivals. That’s who my people are”.
Then the Constantinian Nicean creed (origin of the ways of the Church of Rome) comes along that says: “We don’t have to keep those days”. Do they have to keep those days? No. They have a choice. They can make a different religion (like Catholicism - which Christianity came from) with different days (worship on sunday, holidays like christmas and easter) and say they are honoring YHWH with them.
Honoring Him in ways He didn’t instruct us to honor Him with, are a “strange fire”, just like the sons of Aaron who offered up a strange fire (strange because it wasn’t how YHWH instructed it to be done) and they were destroyed and burned up because of it. Honoring Him in these ways, are a different covering because they honor a different god (pagan gods). Just look up the origins of holidays like christmas, easter, valentines day, st. patrics day, etc., and you will see those holidays indeed were originally created to honor pagan gods. You say: “Those holidays have been redeemed, they are all about Him now (birth of Christ, honor of his resurrection, etc.)”. O really? Tell that to the Israelites who made a golden calf and worshiped it, thinking they were worshiping YHWH and creating their own feast day saying it was to honor Him, but He was so angry with them He almost wiped all of them out; translation: “killed them all” (for those who think He is only about love, love, love). He is a jealous God (Exodus 34:14), and when we turn to pagan ways, we turn to other gods and commit adultery against our God; YHWH. He calls us His “Bride”. He wants a pure Bride, not a prostitute.
In AD 364 the Laydocian Council said: “Now we are going to kill anyone that keeps the days YHWH prescribed” (Seventh day Sabbath and seven feast days found in Leviticus 23). That’s how the Northern tribes of Israel lost their identity, then were later scattered among the nations.
If you read the scriptures, YHWH says clearly “This is My day (the Seventh Day Sabbath), these are My Festivals, this is My covenant with My people. It’s my relationship personally with My people (not just the Jews) and if you want to be My people, these are the things you regard. They are a sign between Me and My people”.
He put us in a safe place until the time of calling out. That safe place was Christianity for a time, because in Christianity, even though His ways (commandments/Seventh Day Sabbaths/Feast Days) are not being followed, we have His Son (Yeshua). The western world has skewed the truth about Him, calling Him by the Greek name “Jesus” when He was a Hebrew and a Jew and saying He did away with the Torah and didn’t keep it Himself, when He did keep it Himself. What He did, was go out of the way to break man-made laws and commandments that were burdensome on the people and not instructed by YHWH. We are saved through Yeshua. He came to bring us back to the Father (YHWH) and the covenant with Him, now understanding (for the first time) what that covenant is. “If you do what I say (His Torah/instructions), you will be My people and I will be your God” (Exodus).
You say: “That is the Old Covenant, we are in the New Covenant”, and you are right. The New Covenant is the Old covenant (written on stone) written on our Hearts (flesh). “But the Old Covenant was done away with” you say. Only “Western” Bibles say that (the original Greek/Aramiac manuscripts don’t). They inserted the word “covenant” when in the book of Hebrews, it talks about the old priesthood being done away with by the new one (Yeshua as our High Priest), just like in Matthew when Yeshua was purposely breaking the complicated man-made ritual (law) about washing of the hands before eating, He said: “It is not what goes into a man that makes him unclean” (but what is in his heart), our “Western” bibles added: “By saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean”. Tell that to Peter who some time after Yeshua died, said: I have never eaten any unclean food”. The sheet of unclean animals was lowered three times to represent the three men who were Gentiles coming to his house (which previously Jews like Peter considered unclean, but were now considered clean per YHWH), so the gospel could go out to them as well.
Yes, we have been lied to. Does that mean we should keep following the lies? In Revelation, at the time of the end, the dragon is wrath with the Saints of YHWH. Who does it say the Saints of YHWH are? They are those who “keep the commandments AND have the testimony of Yeshua”. Is that you?
Lets look at is another way...

You know it only makes common sense that the author and creator of mankind would want to give us His instructions for life, in which He desired for us to walk so that we could have life and have it more abundantly. Having eaten from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, Father knew we would need to know the difference between the two.
Why would the creator of life not desire to give His instructions to His future bride? This is exactly what happened at Mt. Sinai when the twelve tribes entered into covenant with YHWH. It was a marriage contract in which Father laid out the way. He wanted His future bride to walk according to His instructions and if they obeyed, He would bless us and He would be our Elohim and we would be His people and He would prosper us above all the nations of the world, and through us all the world be blessed. So when the ten northern tribes of Israel disobeyed His Torah and broke covenant, Father took His Torah from us and pushed us out of His covenant land and scattered us to the nations. Because of this, the whole world began to lose out of the blessings from Father’s covenant people.
Father was basically saying to the House of Israel, if you do not want to obey My Torah, then I will punish you by removing my Torah from you and I will remove even the remembrance that you were My people from your descendants and scatter you to the nations where you will be held captive by the gentiles and they and they will mistreat you and after you bear your punishment and your descendants come to their senses and repent, I will renew My covenant with you and put My Spirit within you and write My Torah on your heart and bring you back to My covenant land where you will observe My Sabbaths and My Feast Days and I will rule over you and you will obey My Torah.
In a nutshell, this is Torah’s gospel message of the past, present and future of the House of Israel, also reflected in the story of the Prodigal Son.
The Torah Is Light
From Brad Scott’s Teaching - Let There Be Light
According to Newton's law the cause of something has to be greater than or equal to all subsequent things that come from it.
The very first thing YHWH says is "Let there be light" (instruction/Torah) BEFORE He even created the sun. ...and He called it good.
And He said let there be light and saw (percieved) that it was good.
light is the word of YHWH. (not light from the sun)
YHWHs light is His instruction
Proverbs (Mishla) 6:23 commandment is a lamp law is light
23For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:
Isaiah (YesYahu) 8:20
20To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. (so the law and testimony IS light.)
1Tim 6:16 …Who only has imortality dwelling in the light
16Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
YHWH is light. To walk in the light is to walk in His ways
Isaiah (YesYahu) 60:20 the sun and moon won't be the light, but rather YHWH/Yeshua
20Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.
To those who do not follow the laws and commandments (sons of darkness), the end comes upon them like a thief, but to those who are prepared with oil (Torah) who do follow His commandments (sons of light) and laws it does not.
John 3:19 and light (Yeshua) has come into the world, but men loved darkness more than the light
19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Everyone that does evil hates the light
Psalms (Mizmor) 119:105
105Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalms 119:130-131
130The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. 131I opened my mouth, and panted: for I longed for thy commandments. 131 I opened my mouth, and panted: for I longed for thy commandments.
Isaiah 50:10-11 who walks in darkness and have no light (His light) walking in your own light.
10Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God. 11Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.
John 8:12 I am the light of the world.
12Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Psalms (Mizmore) 19:8
8The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Matthew 5:16
16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (works are only defined by His word/commandments)
Light is the Word of YHWH.
The gametria of the word "light" is the same as "In the Torah"the number is 613, which is the number of commandments (total) in the scriptures
In our Western Bibles, terms for laws and commandments were replaced with the name Jesus, so we have lost what these laws and commandments meant and why He gave them to us. “The word was” can be translated “became”.
The word "good" is associated with wholeness and completeness. Only YHWHs laws and commands show what is good, so those who don't keep them or who throw them away (even if they do go to church) have no measuring stick to go from [replacement theology]
The Word of YHWH BECAME flesh, but it was still the Word of YHWH.
2 Cor. 6:14 what community has light with darkness
14Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
Commands are for YHWHs people (the people of YHWH).
The light is the Word of YHWH
2 Cor. 5:7 We walk by faith and not by sight (In Hebrew means trust without sight).
Jeramiah 17:5
Thus says the Lord,“ Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind and makes flesh his [c]strength, and whose heart turns away from the Lord.
Many people are returning to Torah today, because after 1700 years of Christianity and Sunday school and after 3000 years of paganism that have creeped in from the moebites and even before all the way to today, we are finding out the traditions of men whether rabbinic or Christian, whether they have come from your pastor or your rabbi or priest or whover, even your father or mother, if they aren't based upon the clear written words in the scripture they are not from the father. Because of that, we need to leave those things behind, not necessarily forget them, because some traditions are not bad but if the traditions are made equal to the voice of YHWH, they are bad because no tradition of man is equal to the commandments of YHWH.
Consider this analogy by Jeff Gilbert of Hebrew Nation Radio:
